The search for support

In an effort to find motivated people that care for the environment and support our cause we will be targeting towns with a wide variety of outdoor activities, such as ski towns or year round resort towns and everywhere in between during our travels. We hope to get tremendous support and inspire more green development in these types of communities and educate people that can make a difference.

If you live in a rapidly growing town and you feel like it could use a touch of green you can help by contacting us or connecting us to a community leader in an effort to work together for the green initiative of tomorrow.
We bring more green!

10 Simple Things You Can Do Now

1. Change a light: Replace one regular light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb will cut each bulbs energy by 70%. Get your parents to change all the bulbs in your house; or start with your own room.

2. Drive less: Carpool to the mountain and save money on gas. Walk and bike whenever possible. Stronger legs = better snowboarding.

3. Recycle More: You never know your recycled paper might be used to print this magazine.

4. Check your tires for the right air pressure: This improves your gas mileage and saves you money at the pump.

5. Use less hot water: it takes a lot of energy to heat water for your laundry and shower. Wash clothes in cold or warm water.

Get Involved

Just email us to get started
• Volunteer your time at an event or cooking at a BBQ. Anything your good at or would be interested in helping with would be great!
• In order to build our community we need representatives in each town we travel to. Representatives can be as involved as they prefer, but they would generally keep us updated on the progress of projects we have going on in their town and be a voice for Heal the Snow for that area.
• A simple suggestion would be fine too! We are open to ideas for future projects or for anything.
• Do you know of any local green festivals? Let us know.
Jobs:
• Accountant that can ski?
• Carpenters with experience in green building, sustainable, alternative energy etc.

6. Buy less packaging: Avoid products with a lot of packaging and buy used gear whenever possible.

7. Adjust your thermostat: Just adjust it 2 degrees less than usual and you will see difference in your energy consumption and bill.

8. Plant a tree: A single tree will absorb one ton of CO2 over its lifetime.

9. Turn off electronic devices: Simply turning off your TV, DVD player, stereo and computer as well as unplugging your chargers when you are not using them will make a big difference.

10. Bring your own bag to the market. Americans throw away 100 billion plasic bags a year!
